BRONXBOY May 31, 2007 07:07 PM

I KNOW PEOPLE ARE GOING TO TELL ME THAT YOU SHOULD NOT DO IT !!! AND PROBABLY CALL ME A HERETIC FOR EVEN MENTIONING IT !!!!
BUT I WAS WONDERING HOW BAD IS IT ( ASSUMING OF COURSE THEY GET ALONG ) TO KEEP A BABY IGUANA AND A BABY NIGERIAN UROMASTYX IN THE SAME TANK ?? I WAS SUPPOSE TO GET A TANK FROM A COUSIN OF MINE AND THEN HE SAID HE COULDN'T GIVE IT TO ME. NOW I HAVE NO TANK FOR MY NEW IGUANA AND I WON'T BE ABLE TO GET ONE FOR A WHILE. IS IT REALLY THAT BAD TO KEEP THESE 2 SPECIES IN THE SAME TANK ???
PLEASE NO HATE MAIL !!! I AM JUST DESPERATE !!!

Iguanas need lots of height and humdity.
Uro's are dry, rocky desert dwellers.
So...
...no, they are not compatible, sorry. Unless you have a gigantic enclosure, and can regularly spray the iguana x-times a day... If I'm not mistaken, Uros also eat some protein (i.e. bugs)? That's a no-no for an iguana.

See if you can fetch a tank off eBay or something, or use a bathroom for the iguana (easy to clean, keep warm, etc) while you're waiting for another tank.

No hate mail, but please, no all-caps and exclamation marks.
I got anxiety just reading thru the darn thing, haha.

Actually, that is what I have been doing so far. I have the iguana in my bathroom, it is in the bath tub with some water at one end and a heat lamp. I have to get a cage soon !!

You'd end up with either a sickly or dead iguana, a sickly or dead uro, or both.

Should ya keep a polar bear with a panda?

Thank you for the sarcasm. It is much appreciated
