Found this little guy today. Ratsnake?? Cornsnake?? How do you tell the difference?

looks like a baby gray or black ratsnake. if it wuz a corn, it would be an anery corn, and theres not to many of those in the wild.

That is a juvenile Black Rat Snake. A corn snake would have a well-defined "spearpoint" on the top of the head, and show at least a little bit of red or orange coloration, and would be of a slightly smaller build at that age. I do'nt know where you are in Maryland, but cornsnakes are only found in the extreme western and central-southern part of the state, and are not commomly found, unlike black rat snakes which are common to abundant throughout the entire state.
