Heating problem's

Flamed1 May 31, 2007 08:58 PM

I recently purchased a rack for my ball python's. I have a heat cable and it keeps the temp about 90 degrees on the hot side. The problem is I cant get the ambient temp above 75 degrees! I have them in my basement at the moment, I don't want to use an electric heater. Is there any other way then a electric heater, maybe some type of insulation. Any suggestions would help.

75 degrees for ambient temp is the low end of fine. As long as they can warm up somewhere, you should be okey dokey. At night the ambient temp in the air for my snakes is anywhere from 65 to 75, depending on how hot of a night it is. Since they're all eating and fat, I don't think they mind much.
