Wallinda eats the way Charity did when we first took her in, like a ravenous pig who can't fill up that empty spot. I know Charity had been someone's pet because she had the pink nail polish on her to prove it. I wondered then if she'd been wandering around not knowing how to find something to eat. After she'd been here 2 or 3 months she finally stopped acting like she was starving to death.

Wallinda is one bold little turtle, she's much smaller than the others but much larger than a baby.
Yesterday evening I'd fed Wallinda some super worms then left.. came back an hour or so later when the rest of the girls were up for the evening.
I saw Janie and handed her a superworm when out of nowhere here comes Wallinda who actually had the nerve to try to take what Janie had. Janie is much larger- I couldn't believe how bold Wallinda is.
Next thing I knew I was surrounded by all of them. How fun to sit there & have them all come to me like that.

I gave Wallinda another worm and she wanted more. I came in the house got her a bite of banana then I had to leave because I'm not going to hand her so much food that she makes herself sick.
Now I wonder if Wallinda had been walking around not knowing how to find food & really was starving when I got her.
None of the other turtles I've taken in have had this ravenous appetite, just Charity & now Wallinda.

Kid's may say the darndest things but turtles DO the darndest things.
