A few new faces.. O/T

waspinator421 Jun 01, 2007 11:03 PM

Since everyone seems to be going on a posting frenzy lately talking about TP brands and harbor bombing, I thought I'd post my own OT thread. Sorry, I know its not OT Tuesday, but I dont wanna wait!

Three more Thayeri have beed added to my collection recently. These first two I got from Bob Hansen at Sierra Herps (Thanks Bob!!).

This one is Nicodemus, an '05 Leonis male produced by Dan Vermilya. I just love the dot-band-dot-band pattern on a good portion of his body.

This one is Miss Bianca, an '05 female Leonis produced by Russ Bates. She's got a really neat bright orange belly.

And last but not least, Ludo, an '06 MSP male that I got from Brad Alexander (Thanks Brad!!). I just go nuts over his head pattern!! He was born from his Dan V. MSP pair.

It seems like I've gotten quite a bit of new snakes this year.... yeah, I'm addicted. I just can't wait for my first clutch of Thayeri and litter of BRB's next season!

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Those pics are crap crap crap j/k your picture taking skills are great as usual and who do you have trying to get some next year for the brb's maybe some Sable??
Bob

waspinator421 Jun 02, 2007 12:37 AM

Thanks Bob! I hope to get some from both Sable and Vermillion. Vermillion was sold to me as a proven breeder, so she should be good to go, and Sable is growing so fast I'm sure she'll of breeding size by brumation time. I really hope Sable has babies, because she is so ORANGE! I'm excited to see if she'll throw any glowers.

Thank you Frank.... man I wish I could find ANY snakes in front of my place. But thats what I get for living in a city I guess.

I think I would pee myself if I found a Thayeri right outside, but I would also be really confused as they are from Mexico. lol!

Mind if she gobbles up a few of them? I think the Thayeri would suffice lol.

Just kidding. Beautiful snakes. I always glance over kingsnakes nowadays as they have become the norm. Nut thanks to my Cal King and your beautiful photos, I always come back to realize what beautiufl sakes they are.

...Cal Kings are more intelligent! I don't know if you ever read my one post here like last week or so...but my Cal King is, and I am not kidding when I say this, basically a bearded dragon in a Cal King suit. When I walk over to her tank, she comes slithering to the front and starts following me around! I rarely handle her, but she is still able to recognize my scent and thus doesn't bite when I go in to scoop poop or clean the water dish.

Let's hear a thayeri do that! lol

I am concerned though. She is almost 4 years old and about 36 inches, which is normal, but it seems her head it the size of my pinky tip and is about as thick as my skinny thumb. Anybody know if this sounds about right for a 3.5 yr old cal king?

...but my camera battery is dead...actually both camera batteries.

You want a pic of me holding her, her slithering to me when I go to the cage?(that should be a youtube vid...I'll get one up eventually...not much time though...I got what? 16 years left at the least? lol)

Actually come to think of it...just tell me exactly what you want and I'll get the pic ASAP...I realized now there's yet another camera I can use.

it could be just a full body shot, if anything looks awkward it would show, no need to muddy the pic up by putting yourself in it

Scott..... a few of my Thayeri actually do that same thing. Leeloo is especially curious when I open her bin. She'll stick her head right up and sniff close to me, it's really cute. And all of my Thayeri are WAY sweeter than any of my Cal Kings, or any other Cal king I've seen.
