I also have a few genetics questions

Blissguy123 Aug 16, 2003 10:36 AM

I know you all are probibly sick of answering genetics questions, but.....
While on Crested gecko.com, i noticed they had Hypo Tangerine leos that were 100% het for paternless albino. What would that leo need to be bred to to have the paternless albino trait to show?
And my other question is about blazing blizzards. they (crestedgecko.com) also had 100%percent double hets for blazing blizzard. What would those need to be bred to to show the blazing blizzard trait?

Thanks a lot for any replies

you would need to breed something with both the albino and patternless genes, or both the albino and blizzard genes. it doesn't matter how it has the genes, as long as it has both.

You could breed it with a patternless albino, an albino het patternless, Patternless het albino, or another double het. Chances of getting a PA vary according to which of those you breed it with.

FYI: 100% het means it is het, 100% het PA means het albino and het patternless. When someone says an animal is 50% het, what they really mean is that there is a 50% chance it is het, staistically, meaning it had one het parent. But in reality, the animal is either het or not het , it's just an unknown at that point.

Ok, so I have a chance of getting... Normal, het albino, het patternless, and het PA? So what would I sell the babies as?
Thanks,
Chris D.
