If we put enough pressure on him with the aid of other reps and senators he will have no choice but to veto the legislation.

Now to answer your question the Governor can't make that request. A law on the books is a law on the books. Once it is on there we would need an amendment and nothing short will do.

You know, one day I’m going to Texas for vacation as a law abiding individual, the next day I could be going to Texas as public enemy no. 1. Something just AINT right about that. The explanation for suspending House Rule 13, Section 9, to get the amendment on was: “The change is necessary to prohibit CERTAIN PERSONS from hunting a wild animal or bird when the person is on a public road or right-of-way.” So, why don’t we hear TPWD stepping up to C-L-A-R-I-F-Y that the primary enforcement of their new enforcement tool will be against those CERTAIN PERSONS that were the primary motivation for the amendment. Instead, I hear all this bull[bleep] (from TPWD(?), from the legislative director for Carl Isett and others) that the herping community and the communities that support us are the unintended casualties of this ban. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!!
