something nice to look at.....

wow, that's a beauty john! here's an 06 crumbley that's now about 4.5'. she's nice but not as nice as that red stillwater.......

I like the well defined saddles.
I am working on a mixed locality sayi project that will hopefully result in dark black snakes with red ground color. As you would expect when I bred the two distinct locality animals the offspring pretty much looked like something you would see in that part of the range that is midway between the two localities........
I may never get the desired look but is ineresting to try. Don't tell KJ, Billy, or Bart that I did it.......LOL.
Check out this hypo-melanistic Los Mombres Durango locality deppei

Beautiful snake John!!! Randy
yeah, i like high definition in my bulls as well. last year i bred a kankakee to an axanthic & got this. some red highlights would certainly make her the 'belle of the ball'. ps-- don't worry, your secret is safe w/ me.

.

Wow! love that deppei deppei.Thats a real nice snake
I think combining the hypo trait with my aner would be a very interesting project.
My original deppei deppei stock came from Lloyd Lemke.
heres a juve 2nd gen F.
Thanks for the pic. RGDS..........AL

I totally dig the faded look of those saddles.....very nice looking animal and of course with pits especially deppei they to get better with age.
I ended up years ago with two legaly obtained wild caught adult deppei and three of there offspring. the pair would occasionally drop unusual, almost anery offspring however myself and others had a tough time keeping the odd balls alive. They did not do well.
A sister to brother breeding of F1s would throw normals so I discovered by trial and error that it was the wild caught male that carried the funky pattern/hypo-melanistic gene. The guy who collected the original animals collected with another guy who's animals were popular and wide spread in the pet trade so I think that it has come up in at least one other collection (Al's) at about the same I was able to isolate it.
When you couple these aberant traits with a subspecies that is typically quite polymorhic to begin with it realy opens up a multitude of neat options.
I would not be surprised if very soon someone with more space and time developes a hypo patternless morph from my stock as some of the offspring I have produced are headed strongly in that direction.
I maintain my allegience to locality wild type animals and their "natural" beauty and variation but working with the occasional morph or locality mix is just plain fun!

That's one healthy/ beautiful annectens right there sir.

Both the kingsville and the crumbly are nice! I know what you mean with your project John, the enjoyment is in the process. This is an 04 female het whiteside. She laid her first clutch a couple of weeks ago. I can't wait to see her offspring! She is definately my favorite bull in my collection. This time of year is too much fun! Take care!
