do they need a heating pad?

i just got a baby corn snake and i wanted to know if im required to have a heating pad?i keep him in a cage in my house and the temp and humidity is always fine,i live in florida

If "room temp" for you means upper 70's - lower 80's, then you do not need one. I keep my snake room in this range during the summer and somewhat cooler during the winter.

If you air condition down to low 70's, than a heat pad is good. The ideal situation will always be a cool end and a warm end, however, but if your home is warm enough you do not need supplemental heat (and perhaps should avoid it). Duffy
