I have never seen this before. My male 3.5 year old black pine just lost a couple scales on his last shed. Both were on his head, one under the right eye and one near the top of his head. It's actualy down to the "pink". I took some pics but they didn't turn out very clear. The shed was otherwise normal but he has not shed for at least 6 months.
