Im new here and have never incubated turtle eggs before so im looking for some help. We were doing some excavating on my property and saw this box turtle in the middle of one of our working areas covering her eggs. I let her finish and then removed the eggs from the ground and placed them in a small box of loose topsoil trying to cover them at about the same depth she had them. Im not sure if position of the eggs is important but i tried to keep them as she had them. Is there a way to check for the position of the embryo if this is important. if so where should the embryo be on the top of the egg or the bottom?any other info on trying to hatch these eggs would be appreciated. At the time of this posting the eggs are about 12 hours old, i read in another forum egg position can be fudged for the first 12 hours or so? thanks,
