Hey Jeff, are these the same two you posted below a few days ago? If I remember correctly you caught these on the island? How close did you catch the two different color ones apart from each other? One has a very much anery coloring in the pics. Do the anery ones grow to be more of the green color or is the anery looking one just a different color all together than the green I have seen you post? Interesting stuff! Randy W.

I have posted plenty of pics albeit bad ones over the years but I am hoping these clear up at least the doubters. the last pic has the anery with the green adult. I had thoght that the green was a version of the anery gene but I have to rethink this. carl b hatched out one "strange" one from a wc female last year. while not completely typical of "pure"anerythrism its got to be a variant. the distance between all my specimens is about an acre.the small gene pool is goin to be great for research. maybe I can get some help this year.lol.jeff

The small one is pretty easy to believe an anery. The lighter one is a cb adult that I posted pics of a month back. The "green" one is dark and underneath. I have a small "green" one as well, but found in blister it has been in perpetual shed since I got it. Let me know what you think of the comparison pic,Jeff...ps, all animals or decendants found within 1 acre on Monster Island.

I was wondering how large the whole island is and how far from the coast is it? It's cool you are able to study such a isolated population like them with such variability. I assume the different colored ones have the same scale counts. Randy

Great stuff. Is this a big difference from other "normal" populations? That is, are the differences in individuals you're finding far from the normal range of differences in others on the mainland?
It seems there's a large amount of variability in just about all populations/locales, right?

Thats interesting! The variety of colors present on the island shows how the genetics on the island is probably less diverse than on mainland...

I've found milks quite a few times up here in Canada and they always looked like this one that I photographed on the field last year.
