badcompnay Jun 03, 2007 10:47 AM

so im going out today to go buy some peat moss and sphagnum moss from like HD or somewhere maybe even a nursery.

so my question is....would the bag or we say that the peat moss and stuff is toxin free? pesticide free?

are there any specific brands i sould be looking for?

there is no Orchard Supply & Hardware down here in miami so im stuck on that

It will usually say if there is anything in it. Also be aware that anything w/ "natural fertilizers" or "organic fertilizers" can be just as bad.. they still produce high amounts of nitrogen which is not good in your cage.

The peat moss will be outside w/ the mulches (and likely say sphagnum peat moss or something along those lines) - and the actual sphagnum moss will be with the orchids and small tropical plants.

my home depot sells "luster leaf" long fiber sphagnum moss- no harmful additives. Hope this helps, it was located inside as one goes towards the outdoor garden area. I think I said that right lol.
