travelling iguana to california

Dear All.

Havent posted for some time now, but anyway got a question. I am moving my 5 yr old iggy, "Miles" from IL to CA. I figure summer is the best time to do so.. I love him dearly and dont want to give him away. What is the best way to travel with my iggy? I wish i was driving back, that way i could just 36 hour road trip it and he will be A-OK, but since im flying, i need to ship him or put him in a pet carry or something.. i am in the dark with this one. any suggestions guys?!

I believe the Melissa Kaplan website has some info on that.
I'e never done it, hopefully someone else can fill u in the details.
