Leopard Tail loss....

philg Aug 16, 2003 12:00 PM

One of my Males dropped his tail last night due to my cat getting at him. I've had my racks the same way for about a year, and the cat hasn't bothered anything....until now. It seemed it was just enough to get his paws in. Anyways, is there any special care I have to take for him until he regenerates? How long does it take to regenerate a new tail? Will I notice any increase/decrease in his eating habits??? I just feel so bad for him right now. I have him in his own aquarium on fresh paper towels (I was keeping him on sand).

a little dash of a mild antibacterial ointment (neosporin, etc) on the wound will help it heal better. keep him off sand until the tail is almost fully regenerated.
