A nice quote from HH

You know that Texans, all Texans, have a fierce native pride and also have a fierce tie to the land, regardless of whether they're landowners or not. It's just a part of being the character of a Texan that you care about the land and you want to be close to the land. We have to in this state increase the opportunities for every day Texans to have that opportunity to enjoy the natural resources of this state, to help preserve and conserve those resources, but to enjoy those in recreational activities.

without going through the entire report, I gather that Hilderbran has been pushing this bill for a few years now, and is in with the "in crowd" at TPWD. Fairly easy for a Rep with that many years experience to slide a favor in a bill that is badly needed. Can't understand why someone in TPWD would hate us as a community so much as to take joy away from so many well meaning people. Chuey gets a call first thing.

as my grand-pappy used to say "there's more than one way to skin a cat"

no doubt! I prefer a chainsaw! Harvey has been working on this a long time, how does booting us get TPW more money, lol! If we have 10,000 herpers who don't buy licenses this August, what kind of money is that? I just.....shoot! Well, I will be out and about, but ready and willing.
