Indiana camping trip.....

izora Jun 04, 2007 04:01 AM

My fiancee and I are going camping this coming weekend and we were wondering first of all besides copperheads and moccassins, what other venomous might we encounter? Also, it's doubtful but we were both curious as to how venomous each of the above snakes are? We realize if bitten we'd warrant a trip to the ER, just curious as to the potentcy of the venom and what are the treatments for those types of bites? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't be too concerned over Cottonmouths. There are only 2 relic populations known in S. Indiana. Timber (Canebrake) Rattlesnakes are common along with Copperheads. Watch where you put your hands and feet and you will be ok.
