From My experience hatchling sometimes don't feed right after the 1st shed if they absorbed lots of yolk before they emerged from the egg...

for example the runt of the clutch (if there's one) will feeding earlier than the ones that "sat" in the eggs absorbing as much yolk as possible before they left the egg.

so don't get nervous if you offer food and they turn it down... if you do have a situation where your hatchlings refuse food give them some time, at about 10-15days after the 1st shed if there isn't progress their are a few tricks you can try to get them feeding (scenting with a lizard or snake guts [from a hatchling that may not have made it] helps get them feeding, after the 1st meal they'll be fine)

hope that was helpful any other questions feel free to ask anytime

Hey ZF, that little animated thing at the bottom of your signature, what happens when you stare at that for, say, 25 minutes straight? Anything bad?
