Spoiled or Aggressive behavior

Hello All! I'm a new iguana owner. We were given Yoda from some folks we know back in November. He is currently in an terr. that
is 7'x7'7'. He's got some huge pieces of drift wood that we scrubbed down before putting in his terr.

His diet is veggies and fruits. he's been to the Vet to get a clean bill of health.

He allows you to pet him and when on his terms, he will let you hold him. He is not yet allowed out of his enclosure. I have mixed concerns on that.

His temp levels and lighting are adequately maintained.

Here's my concern. the other day, his food bowl was empty, which is rare. He was in his terr. running in circles, chasing his tail!!?? A piece of his tail is now off, approx 4 inches!

Is this normal behavior? I'm wondering if he's picking up
"learned behavior" from my cat, who does a very odd thing, he beats himself up. Hits himself in the head w/back legs, while
front paws are trying to catch and bite back legs. he growls, hisses at him self and is all over when he does this. It's not something new, Cat is going on 18 yrs and he's done this his whole life. He does this infront of the terr. from time to time.

Is it possible that Yoda is picking up Freddie's bizzare behavior?

Any input is much appreciated.

That's a first...
Either keep the cat out of the terr. room (which should've been done in the first place, it's possibly freaking out the iguana), and see if anything changes.
The dimensions are fantastic!

No, no, no, lol.. cat does not go in terr. we have a 5 ft. by 7ft section of plexiglass across the front where cat tends to sit in front of. Yoda's been good the past couple of days.but still keeping an eye on his behavior. Worst case scinero is a trip to the Vet. Tail seems to be healing well (put iodine and anti-bacteria on it)
Thanks for your reply!!!

Hopefully you are also giving Yoda fresh dark greens. Just
veggies and fruit is not a complete diet.

Indeed!! He gets a nice variety of fruit and veggies. Before I became his owner, I printed a TON of stuff on diet and keep it in the car for when I go shopping.
Thanks!!!
