Shades required, sunny day pics no DU

rainbowsrus Jun 04, 2007 06:53 PM

The sun was out today and my trio of BRB's from Will Bird were looking good. They are descended
from Lamars Leticia locality BRB's. The group has excellent crescents even bullseyes and they
all have a lot of blues and purples in them I don't see in my other BRB's

This is Vivian, she shed last night:

And a couple of older indoor pics of Vivian:

This is Scarlett, the most orange of the three:

And some older pics of Scarlett as well:

And this is Rhett, He's a bit of a picky eater. Not bad but will sometimes refuse a meal (mostly
shed related) and has not grown as much as the females. He's also from a different litter so???
This guy has TONS of blue in him, simply amazing in person:

And an older pic of Rhett as well:

While I had them out I tried to get pics of two together, Scarlett and Rhett. They were very
active so didn't get any really good shots but got a couple of OK ones:

And lastly a close-up of the previous pic:

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed!!

Nice pics - it does help to have great animals.

If you ever need extra $$ you could take pics of other people's snakes or at least teach them how to take good pics.

I have a digital SLR, but do not have much time to learn how to use it. Thus, it seems to be on full auto in sports mode (the sports mode is used in case the snake moves).

LOL, that's how I shoot, full on auto, digital SLR. I do mix up the setings, not always sports setting.

It's all in the subject and lighting!!

lol nice pics as always and it is very weird to see a Colling pic with some rocks in the background and it is a nice change of pace but don't think I'm knocking you Dave in anyway by that line but man you post some stellar pics that when you see the background it just hits smack dab in the forehead and you know it is a Colling pic so thanks for mixing it up and I appreciate that cuz at first it through me off guard so I need to watch that about you (now a tricky and a bad man). Thanks for sharing some pics and that Scarlett is gonna be a good working girl

Yeah, I have gotten to the point where I've defined my favorite pic taking setup and just go with it. It's inside with my assortment of flood and GE reveal lighting. On top of a white melamine cage. Simple background makes for eye popping snakes!! But the outside pics are alos cool, just more work gotta drag everyone outside, make sure the dog's put away etc.

I feel these three have some added color I don't typically see. Hard to capture, maybe I'll do some indoor shots with them and Hook or Amber etc.

Mickey in there one time if he is looking good. Maybe not for the group photo but maybe for an updated picture Dave and maybe a little Dumbo too. Sorry to sound bossy but you could take all those pics for us, keep a few and maybe get a call from Brian or maybe have some babies while your clicking and flashing but more seriously how many lights (wattage) do you use on your photo set or is it a "Colling Secret" cuz if not I would like to see a pic of your setup not to duplicate it or anything (seriously) but just to really get an idea of how your pics looks so damn good and have me but totally understand if you want to use discretion but I was gonna ask awhile back but didn't so I figured today is a good day as any but if not there is always via e-mail j/k but not really

Yeah, do need to get updated pics of the hypos. Np on the setup, it's a simple track light with 7 total 65 watt floods. Only 5 are aimed at the general pic area, 3 GE reveal and 2 standard floods. kind of gets light all over the top.

one of my ALL TIME best photo shoots. Have not even looked at the actual pics yet but the session was amazing. I had 6 BRB's out at one time and ALL were staying in perfect poses. Including several that stayed that way for over 5 minutes. Typical pics are get it out and snap quick before they get wound up. I just know these pics will be worthy of their own thread!!!!!!!! Stay tuned.

BTW, thanks for the idea to take more pics tonight!!

P.S. Yes Mickey is in the group AND MORE!!!!! Wow I am excited!! Now off to sort, select, label and otherwise process pics and will post them up when I can!!!!!
