Question about housing Leo's

Breathingbywires Aug 16, 2003 01:30 PM

Alright I have my little Leo, she is probably two or three months with me now, she is getting fairly big. I have her in a 10Gal. and am looking to purchase a bigger housing unit for her, and/or building her one.

The question I have however, is can I SAFELY house another female gecko with her? Has anyone done this, put a new Gecko into the exsiting home of one you already have.. if so any advice? Thanks.

ya ive dont it many times!

it just depends on one little factor ...are the two that your planing to house togather the same age? if they are its totaly fine! but if the other gecko your planing to house with her is alot bigger than her than no ..id wait till they are the same size!

I tried to put a baby female in with another female of about a year, and the older tried to eat the younger. She did not seem happy about there being another leo in her house, she kind of poked her head out of her hide, charged the baby, head butted it and then nipped it. So I would be careful.

The bigger leo will either bully the small leo, stressing it, it wont want to eat or wont get any food because its all being eaten by the large leo, or just eat the small leos itself. I'd stay away from mixing different sized leos.
