I'm thinking of getting a pair of my all time favorite Ratsnakes the Yellows and would like some opinions on this snake.
How are their temperaments on average and what's the average size they attain?
Thank you

They are just like any of the American Rat Snakes. They can get to be over 6 feet in length. If you get a good captive breed pair, and work with them, they tame as well as any of the American Rats. Go for it. They are great snakes.
Cool! Thanks for the info.
I agree. If these are the snakes you are interested in, you should not hesitate. The North American Ratsnakes are awesome animals, and super easy to work with. You just gotta love 'em!

I have a pair that are great animals, though not lap snakes by any means. The male is probably pushing 6 feet right now, but the female is a tiny little thing at only around 3-4 feet. The bred for me last year and I got 6 good hatchlings (still have them all). The incubation temps were a little high, so some of them had varying degrees of spinal bumps, but now almost one year later, all but the very worst have straightened out almost completely. That is a testament to their toughness.
As far as temperaments, mine vary from totally docile to demon snakes, with most being somewhere in the middle. My big male I use for educational programs for the local Cub Scouts and Brownies as well as my daughter's second grade class. He's a great guy, but still musks. In fact, even my little cbb's still musk a bit. Some bite and some don't.
Overall, I really like my yellows and other than one road-rescue corn, they are the only NA rat snakes I keep. Like I said, they are not lap snakes, but are easy to keep, very pretty (especially the South Florida varieties like mine, hehe) and easy to breed. Here's some pics...
