Not a Ball Python, obviously, but here's an egg-tooth for those that have never seen one as stated early last week in a post:

As you can tell in the picture, the tooth is not actually on the nose like most people think. It seems to be part of the top lip, and is shiny in appearance, almost like metal. And its SHARP. Razor sharp.
Comes off in first shed. Check your first sheds of your baby Pythons if you don't believe me.....
Baby Burmese can cut through a snake bag with their egg tooth. The bag doesn't have to be tight, and the snakes don't have to be in there very long for them to cut their way out.
never thought of that.....selling them too fast out of the egg can lead to people losing them in shipment .......even in the car.......
can see it now..."headline::""Delta freight representative threatened by knife wielding snakes""........"It cut my arm."

I met a dealer halfway to his shop and we put burms in bags in the back of his SUV. After a few bags, we looked and saw a few crawling around. After that I kept the bags in rubbermaids with lids.
I rememeber virtually always noticing the egg teeth on my baby carpets back when I was involved IJs, but I don't think I've even noticed the egg teeth on my BPs. I remember looking once or twice for them, just for curiosity's sake, but not seing them. I wonder if BPs either do not have egg teeth, or their egg teeth drop very quickly after pipping. I'll have to pay very close attention this year as my babies hatch. If I can find one, I'll be sure to take some pics...
For sure. I should be able to get a pic within 10 days.....
If you've ever seen a clutch hatch without being cut open manually, you will see the eggs literally sliced to shreds.....and there's only one way for a baby snake to accomplish that.
