Busy work

Kevin_Arbogast Jun 05, 2007 09:01 AM

This is about the only way my male pastel will sit still. He is still locked in breeding mode, pacing his cage, not eating, and my girls are done for the most part, so I put him in with this 1100 gram girl to chill out with. She is small but very stout, and probably won't be ready till late fall, but if she can keep him busy for a day or two then that is good enough for me.

This girl laid another nice clutch for me this year. She laid 7 eggs on June 2, funny thing is she laid 7 beauties last year on June the 2nd.

Here are three of her kids I kept from last year.

She was bred to the same pastel male as last year so I am hoping for a few more keepers.

I have a female that laid 7 eggs on 3/26/05. And then 5 eggs this year on 5/27. They also hatched 1 day apart too. I can't wait to see what she does next year. If she does it again, I'm checking her cage for a calendar. By the way, nice eggs. Very healthy looking. I have a nice white clutch waiting for me at home. She started laying this morning right before I left for work. I think she did 7 also. Figures they always have to wait til morning. Then you have to wait all day, and by the time you get to them, they're stuck together. But, oh well. Now the longest wait begins. Good luck with them.
