You beat me to it! (first outdoor shots!

Toyota, we had the same idea today! These are my first attempts to photograph our Florida king outdoors. Man, when she got close to the grass she seemed like she wanted to take off! I never let go of her. This last shot obviously didn't turn out but I thought it was a cool image anyway...

Man that thing has some georgeous deep reds.

Thats why I think it is het for lavender because the Professional Breeders line (Steve osborne)hets look just like that.

Too bad you never got a real good history on her.

I run into the guy we got her from at shows. Nice guy, and he seems to remember the snake but then says stuff like 'that was a year ago, right?' when it was two months ago. So, yeah, it seems like I could get *a* history on her, but whether or not it would be *her* history is another story.

Thank you for the compliments!

Well did he say he bred it or did he broker it?

Sometimes breeders sell lots of het brooks kings with no disclosed genetics. He may have picked them up in trade or from another broker. Either way my guess is that snake has a good possibility of producing the extreme line of lavender albino. I have seen a lot from that line and your does look like it came from that.

Proffessional breeders got their stock from Tim Ricks. Tim sold a lot of his stock over the years to private individuals as well, so it probably traces back to him in some way.

I'm sure he'll be at Hamburg, PA this weekend, we're going to that show so I'll ask him a little more. Bring a photo as a reminder. I'll post whatever I find out.

Being our first snake of any kind, our questions were all about how big she'd get, where she was from (what part of the country), temperament, etc. We didn't even know to ask questions about anything else.

If he did not breed it then he probably does not about any hidden genetics. If he knew then he would have labled it as a het for lavender.

Beautiful snake! Yeah I had a hard time taking pics of my two. As soon as they were on the grass they were off! Didn't help that the temp was like 107 here in az, they warmed up instantly! lol! it was fun! My female seemed scared the whole time, but the male seemed to be enjoying himself!
