Anthill Python Eggs

TinyPythons Jun 05, 2007 06:25 PM

Saki finally dropped her eggs today, 32 days after her last shed. She's managed to produce 8 eggs and one slug in her tiny little body. We're keeping our fingers crossed that there will be a healthy clutch hatching soon.

40-50 days for Anthills? Usually our Childreni hatch out starting about 40 days, but this is our first clutch of Anthills so it's all a learning experience. We're keeping them the same way as the Childreni eggs in the incubator.

They are soooo small, like little white marbles. It's hard to believe there are snakes in there Ha ha

Congratulations! My female just threw a slug. She feels like she has about 6 slugs and 2 fertile eggs still in her.

Hope your slugs are actually good ones instead! Good luck

Pretty cool! Good luck getting those little buggers eating for you. I'm finding it a little hard getting my baby spotteds eating. I thought the baby spotteds were small, can't wait to see you're little ones when they hatch! Good luck!

No pics of the eggs yet, just wanted to get them in the incubator last night, but as for eating and being small... Here's a pic of 'Fizz' as a baby eating a pinky head... Looks painful, doesn't it?

Congrats on the clutch!

From the folks I have talked to anthills should take around 45 days. Good luck with those.

I know what you mean about how tiny they are. Evey time I look at them I can't believe they are actually mature adults.

In this pic the container she is in is only 5 inches across the top!

I would say it depends on the humidity and the temps. My first clutch hatched between 51 - 54 (I was out of town when she laid, the ingrate) (lol) days after being laid.
My second clutch, last week, hatched exactly 44 days after being laid.
Now keep in my my first clutch had a lower high temp and stable humidity than this last one did. So I would say 43 days is a good time to start every few hours watching for eggs starting to hatch.
I wish you continued luck with them.
