Abbott Okeetee laying eggs....

BlueKing Jun 05, 2007 07:06 PM

My Okeetee laid 17 eggs yesterday - unfortunately two of them are slugs. But 15 (good ones), still ain't bad for a 3.5 foot snake...
Sorry for the bad pic (she was about halfway through in this pic).

Now if my (WC) Miami would just hurry up and lay, I'd be happy lol!!!

That seems pretty small for an okeetee. Congrats on the clutch! Hope they all hatch out beautiful babies. What did you breed her to?

I bred her to an Abbott Okeetee male that I got from Tony D. at a reptile show back in 05'.
She is an 03'. A couple of her eggs are quite small, but appear hard, white & fertile (unlike the two softer, darker eggs)

Here's a pic of the male:

Wow, and I thought that okeetees were supposed to be the giants of the corns. I have an anytheristic/possible ghost corn that is about 10 years old and is only 42 inches long. I also have an abbotts okeetee that I am hoping will grow up to be as beautiful as the ones that I have seen here.

Thanks
I'm mainly a kingsnake guy, but how can you say "no" to those nice orange and red colors, lol! My collection just wouldn't seem complete without a pair of those!
If you can make it to Daytona this year - there should be a HUGE selection for you. ( I will be there as well, to thin my collection a bit)

lol. If only.
I live in Cali, so that would be a trip and a half for snakes!
The closest, soonest reptile show here is Sandiego june 30th, 1st of july. That is about a 6-7 hour trip one way for me.
