I have no breeding experience, one of the reasons when you first asked about weights I said to be cautious put on some extra weight, and get more opinions about it. Which I thought you did and the majority said to wait a bit and be cautious it would not hurt any. All that is in the past now and I apologize to you It had to go through the way it did. somethings I said I felt I was forced to say to prove my point or explain why it bothered me like it did. Others who just heard me say one name and wanted the whole post to be about that big name. I referenced to how much more experience they have then you/me and how many things had to go wrong for them to have all the knowledge they do. For them to hear you say a weight over email or phone and told you to breed .I felt was a little for lack of better words scary knowing how busy they are and the amount of e-mails they get, and getting ready for their trip to Daytona. Also I know Rob and Vicki personally I felt like I said nothing to degrade them or make their name seem bad. You learn from your mistakes and every business does it the same way. No one is perfect. I personally apologize to you if I hurt your feelings in anyway, but my main concern was your females well being, period the end nothing more. OK now your question, Sorry I felt the above had to be said so you understood where I was coming from, and that I was sorry for offending you, and I will always be herew to try and help, even if you think I'm an ass.
That book is pretty accurate in details, but there is always variance from animal to animal. Can you feel the eggs yet? It's possible her hormones are changing and she feels it coming and is simply getting nervous that she is not going to have a spot to lay. You do have her separated from the male now right? Have you chose if you were going to let her lay in her enclosure or take her out to a laying bin? Maybe if you have her laying bin set up let her spend some time in it and let her know you know what is going on, and you will have a spot for her. Maybe she will lay early, maybe it's just your first time breeding and your overly sensitive too her changes. I know I'm going to be a wreck, lol. If your going to put the laying soil in the cage and let her lay there well go ahead and put it in and let her dig and find a spot she likes. If your going to take her out to a bin you can show her it is there for an hour just to see what she does. I do know that MOST females before laying will really slow on eating. This is a sign to watch for. As for the digging and pacing the cage I know it becomes intense almost non stop. I hope more people with more experience in this part will have some more info to add. Again please don't feel like people hate you, I don't I think nobody does. It's just that are interests lie in your dragon and not what you want or when you feel ready. Seems like you did not understand that and searched for someone to say yes. I don't know that's just the feeling I was getting. Sorry again if I'm wrong. Good luck with your breeding. Bottom line we all want you to succeed. Matthew
