Heat Jun 06, 2007 01:10 AM

The flash is reflected right on the stripe.

I've been wondering what youve been talking about?

You do mean the stripe inbetween the iris and the eye socket correct?

When I gat home I am going to campare my Pied 100%ers to the others and report back.

Interesting....

my boy is in the blue right now. after he sheds ill post a pic of his eyestripe and my girls. probably nothing, but still strange that of my eight balls only the het pieds have this silver eye. one thing for sure, when i produce possible hets, im checking for belly marker and eye stripe to determine my keepers.

So you're saying you've already checked, and what Heat said is true for your snakes?

About this silver eye stripe? Ya know it may seem funny, but when it comes to hets, I'll take any advantage I have to verify.

Also, the first person to say "Ohh yeah, the snake with the funny dot like markers and clear belly-scales inbetween" they may have laughed at but now evryone looks for Yellow Bellies.

In the unopened Africa bag, at the Petco, under the couch , people see these markers and take them seriously now.

...yes i have backed up what heat says, and i want to say that i have noticed this silver stripe in my het pieds for quite awhile now. the more balls i get the more it stands out as a unique trait. granted, normal balls have it sometimes, but to this degree?? ill post pics soon, but i doubt that they will show the silver color and how truely cool it is. like i stated earlier, it is probably no indication of the snake being het for pied, but if i had a pick of possible hets i would look for the belly stripe and the eyestripe and if one had both traits that would be the one i would buy.

Maybe. Can't hurt to try & prove em out.

Well got home and checked it out, and I think its just the membrain around the eye. I see it in all the snakes I checked?

Dont get me wrong, I DO believe the het marker scales by the vent is something, but I can't say that I have seen any difference with this silver stripe?

I'll post more pix. In the case of my Pete Kahl het, it is definitely not a membrane.
