It is a dewormer commonly used in leopard geckos. Safe and effective.

Only if you feed crickets. Crickets carry worms. And I wouldn't start until it is full grown. As a breeder with a lot of geckos my vet recommends I do it every six months, preventatively. It's not good for breeding leos to have worms, better to keep them at optimum health and weight all the time, both for their health, to help avoid egg binding, and for egg yields. Panacur is very safe at the correct dosages (very wide margin of safety) and it's not like antibiotics, worms don't become resistant to it. But with only one leo once every year, unless you see symptoms, should be good. And I wouldn't worry about doing it right away...wait til you think you notice some symptoms the first time.

Basically the first time you notice symptoms of worms (runny stools, gecko licking anal area, failure to gain weight, mild weight loss or lack of appetite) you go to a vet, get a fecal, and if there are worms you'll and get the dosages (it goes by weight of your animal) and learn how to administer the med. He'll give you a prescription for panacur. Then after that you can do once a year preventatively if you like, you can get panacur online w/o a prescription.

Panacur comes in a liquid, dosages are calculated by the gecko's weight and administered via oral syringe.
