I called Grogans Mill Pet Clinic today to see if my ol' buddy Dave Doherty could work a reptile rescue call for me since it was in the Woodlands where he lives and works. Dave was nowhere to be found. The girl at the front desk didn't know where he was, but said he was gone,.........for 3-4 days! I said "I can tell you where he is"! I called up Motel 6 in Del Rio, and low and behold, there was a Dave Doherty checked in! Dave, no wonder you catch so many alterna! You slip away at during the nid week! Good plan. I got a report from him and he said that he had missed a light phase blairs up 277. The snake was cruisng off the road into the high grass. By the time he stopped the car, the snake was totally off the road into the grass. He said he searched for 15 minutes but could never locate it. DAVUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW COULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN!!!!?????? Duuuuuuuuude!!!! Better luck tonight. He also said there were three other hunters out there (RAK, was one you?)and no one really saw anything of importance. My feeling is tonight into next week is going to ROCK!!!! See you guys this weekend and all of next week!

I was the recipient of that VERY cruel joke on Pandale Road in June 1977. A beautiful adult light phase blairs slowly moving over the shoulder berm...I was so excited that I nearly wet myself and when I reached down to pick it up, it suddenly and unexpectedly flew at warp speed up and away into the darkness! I had no idea what had happened until I heard laughter from the dark beyond, and even after Frank revealed himself (after waiting a long time for me to come along),I was in such a state of shock that I couldn't comprehend that he had been pulling a DOR he had found on Juno Road with fishing line. It had snagged and he jerked it to free the line, which caused the snake to fly away when it was mere inches from my hand. I didn't think it was funny at all and still don't 30 years later.

Don't worry Bob. Rick, Frank and I don't think it's funny either. It was just a moment of weakness that made Frank do it... hugh
