Pandale 6/05

gmerker Jun 06, 2007 03:03 PM

We hit Pandale Paved and Dirt last night and headed back to Langtry and Sanderson...saw two Baird's Rat Snakes, an Emory's Rat Snake, a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, a Coachwhip Snake, a night snake, and a Crotalus lepidus lepidus....conditions were as follows: a very slight breeze....temps in the upper 70's at sunset....we also saw one vinegaroon, two Rio Grande Gold Tarantulas, and quite a few other interesting invertebrates....

The road was washed out in a couple of places, but some grading has already occurred. There was standing water in a lot of places....I would not recommend a low clearance vehicle....four wheel drive with good tires are "good to go"

Invertebrates are bugs NOT covered by the scope of any legislation in the TP&W code. Wild animal is defined as a terrestrial vertebrate, which excludes all bugs, including but not limited to Scorpions, Tarantulas, Centipedes, & Beetles.
