My vision rack!!!

royalkreationz Jun 06, 2007 09:54 PM

Just got a new infrared (woo hoo) temp gun from Pro Exotics. I went to measure my temps on my Vision rack that I had wired per Greg Graziani's instructions. With no Helix or thermostat of any kind, I have a heat range of 89-91 from top to bottom. The only thing I do to keep an even temp gradient in the room is to keep a ceiling fan on. I have ordered a Helix just to be safe though. It should be here by Friday.

Can you post a link or forward the instructions. I have a vision rack and would love to have it wired that way. Thanks, John

With the rack, you get two heat cords, one is brown and the other is white. Use the brown wire on the bottom shelves. You should run out of cord with three shelves left. Use the white cord for the top three shelves. I will try to get some pics for you this weekend. Tomorrow is feeding day and so I am going to leave them alone for now, and I have two going into shed.

I designed the rack so that you can customize the heating on each individual level, so that your lower levels can be the same temp as your upper levels and it is possible to use the heat cable without a thermostat, but if your snake room is subject to temperature fluctuations, I highly recommend using a thermostat.
