Phil and Ryan...

ECC Jun 06, 2007 10:10 PM

Derek and I went to the spot in Southern MD where Ryan found that King.

This awaited us under the big tin that yielded the enormous Black Racer. Ryan - also, we found a 5' Black Racer under the carpet where your little King was found... Good thing those two did not meet up.

Derek took these pic's. It was in the mid 70's and this snake was highly agitated.

I'm tempted to give you a smartass answer, but I wont. Yes, it's a copperhead. It wasnt a stupid question. If you arent sure what a copperhead looks like, then you just dont know what a copperhead looks like. This doesnt make you an idiot. It's a good idea to learn though as mis-identification can cause painful results.

I was pretty sure, but I've never seen one in person... although I'm bound too this summer since they're native to western PA and I've been spending a lot of time out in the woods with the horse... I'd just like to have an idea of what I'm lookin at if I do see one so I know to just leave it alone...
Thanks for the answer...

some how that doesn't suprise me at all... The only time my Cal king has bit me has ben when I was drinking and feeding him at the same time... he was eating out of my hand and my pinky must have still smelled like a pinky mouse... lol... he figured out his mistake pretty quickly though...
