the future.....

FRoberts Jun 07, 2007 09:54 AM

Under my current living conditions, there are some snakes I can not have due to their environmental requirements. When I buy my own house, I will acquire a few of these snakes. I do not have a place that is cool enough currently. These are beautiful snakes......

Red Mountain Racers:

Oreophis porphyracea coxi

Elaphe porphyracea coxi

and a little song since I am in "rare form" today!!!

When does a dream become a nightmare?
When do we do what must be done?
When do we stand and face the future?
When there is nowhere left to run?

And you've got to learn
Just how to survive
You've got to learn
How to keep your dream alive

Take a look at my face
I am the future
How do you like what you see?
Take a look at my face
I belong to the future
And you belong to me

When does a dream become a nightmare?
When do we learn to live with fear?
When we cry out for some salvation?
Why is it no one seems to hear?

You've got to learn
It's up to you
If you can learn
That the dream just might come true

Take a look at my face
I am the future
How do you like what you see?
Take a look at my face
I belong to the future
The world belongs to me, yeah

Take a look at my face
I am the future
Now, how do you like what you see?
Take a look at my face
I belong to the future
And the world it belongs to me
It belongs to me

It's all mine
Just take a look at my face
I'm the future, no disgrace
Take a look at my face
This world belongs to... to me

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some species Information for those that care to look.

Those are sharp snakes, Frank! Are you in a rental house currently, that you can't add them now? BTW, Who wrote the song?

I missed a day or two on the forum, and it's almost impossible to catch up! (Talk about a lot of posts...!)

I would highly recommend you to NOT talk to Dave or look at any of his pics cuz then you relapse definately and who wants that huh? I do I dolol After exchanging several e-mails with Dave, okay I lied really about 20 or so I have determined that I want a lot of snakes like 30-40ish but all in due time so Dave is a good and baaaaaad influence on me but I have to say that man has never turned down an e-mail or ? I have asked and guess how much I have money is in his pockets from my snake purchases with him, not one penny so if that isn't a man of character then I'll quit posting for now on but he is so I don't have to worry about anything

Dave, good people are hide to find-oh so true IMO. I had my physics teacher in h.s. who had a saying-They got people in the world and I'm glad I'm not one of them. He said that every day 3-4 times a day and after a couple of years after h.s. it had meaning to me.

not considered 'perverse by the Roman Catholic Church, oh yeah the snake / god thing.

All my dreams are no good, oh well, I'd rather be hot or cold, then lukewarm.

I dream about snakes and other R & A a lot more than a non-herper should. I am a strong believer in the theory that people dream about things closest to their minds before they hit Rapid Eye Movement ( REM Sleep ).

so I have lot's time to post and or google stuff.

I work for Costco Wholesale ( started Feb 16, 1988 ).

Best company to work for in my opinion.

No! I do not get or want a "discount" on company merchandise.

Reason being is related to the following.

small % mark up, not "cost effective", in regards to bottom line profits. ( I am a shareholder as well )

Free 100 dollar Executive membership. ( and all perks involved )

I also get:

Six weeks vacation. ( 1 week can be floated over to the next year, so tech it's 5 weeks, if not used, you loose them and the vacation pay as well )

Six sick days. ( which you get paid for if not used )

3 Floating holidays ( loose these and $ if not used )
.
All major holidays off w/ pay.

401k ( $2500.00 company match and yearly deposit related to hours worked, for me was $3150.00 this past year. )

Medical ( $25.00 a check )

Premium Dental ( $3.00 a check )

Pharmacy ( $ 3.00 / 5.00 dollar prescriptions )

Guaranteed 40 work week, unless Sunday involved, then it's 38.

Time and a half Sunday pay.

Great EAP program.

Free smoking cessation program, in which, they will provide you with available paraphernalia to help one quit. Such as patch, gum, and or lozenges.

My average yearly salary for the past 4 years = $ 46K , some overtime worked, not much.

That's off the top of my head, I know there's more benefits.

Oh yeah, you receive a $3000.00 / $3200.00 bonus every 6 months.

That alone raises ones salary a generous 6K or better for the year, for hours not worked, hence the name Bonus Check.

So, as a company oriented type of person, ( ok some selfish gain )

I truly believe the company pays us well enough to be able to afford most goods at the same prices our members pay.

BTW,

Wall mart gives it's employees a "discount", most likely to psychologically compensate its employee base for years of sub-optimal benefits, or perhaps it helps the "higher ups" somehow believe, they are, at the very least, a "good" employer to work for.

I bet compared to a " Costco employee ", Wallmart must surly breed dedicated employees with many good things to say publicly about how they are treated.

NoTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!

wallstreet compared Costco's turn over rate to Wallmart's, let's just say, there is a HUGE difference in employee turnover.

Costco's approach to it's employees obviously leads to a " better / higher grade " employee base.

I am in a rental house, I rent upper floor, two family house. If, I had the lower level and a basement, I would be able to provide the ideal & necessary environment for this species.

The song is from an obscure 80's Alice Cooper Album, called, Zipper Catches Skin. He went off the deepend during the 80's due to both Alcoholism & The popularty of Disco music.

I have heard every published song from this particular singer.

His 80's music being the most obscure.

Title's ( album name ) Like: DaDa, Zipper Catches Skin, Flush The Fashion, and Special Forces. Kinda punk compared to his usual releases.

Being Odd, I like this era of his music the most.

He is my favorite singer.

Jethro Tull is my favorte " band / group".

I Love America

I love that mountain with those four big heads
I love Velveeta slapped on Wonder Bread
I love a commie... if'n he's good and dead, yup
I love America

I love Old Glory and homemade pie
I think them Ruskies should be sterilized
I love my chicken Kentucky Fried...
Finger Lickin' Good!

Hey there, this is A.B. Cooper from
Cooper's Carnival of Clean and Classic Cars
It's our Fourth of July ... sale.
Here at Cooper's Carnival of Clean and Classic Cars
At the corner of Collins and Commerce
I've got lot full of the finest funny looking cars money can buy
At prices even you can afford
So come on down and say hello to me, and granny
And bring the kids to meet my snake
I say, "bye"
Granny says, "bye"
and the snake says, "sssssssssss"

I love General Patton in World War II
My Pocket Fisherman and my Crazy Glue
I love the Beav and Wally too, yeah
I love America

I love the bomb, hot dogs and mustard
I love my girl, but I sure don't trust her
I love what the Indians did to Custer
I love America

Here they come!
There they go!

I love my jeans and I love my hair
I love a real tight skirt and a real nice pair
And on the fourth of July, I love the rockets' red glare
I love America

I watch the A-Team every Tuesday night
I graduated, but I ain't to bright
I love Detroit 'cause I was born to fight
I love America

I love the Tigers but I hate the Mets
I ride my Hog but I race my Vette
I gotta job, but hell I'm still in debt
I love America

I love my bar and I love my truck
I'd do most anything to make a buck
I love a waitress who loves to... flirt!
They're the best kind
I love America
Turn me on
Well, I gotta go now
I love America
Bye Bye, I tell you what though, I really do love it
You ain't going to catch me at no mayday rally.

Yeah.. they are knockouts without a doubt. I will have a pair of those and some E mandarina at some point.. but it will be a few years.

I am getting my very first colubrid ever this year though! Just as soon as they hatch and ready to go.. Spilotes pullatus - Here is the sire to the clutch!

colubrid, reminds me of my first python at 11 years old. Python reticulatus, not exactly like the docile ones available today. BTW, I have wanted one of those snakes a LONG LONG time!!!

I have read that they are very high strung animals, a desirable characteristic to me. ( I study aggression in Reptiles ) Not to mention their color and impressive size and girth. You must keep me posted on it's behavior. In regards to study purposes, the next best thing to owning the snake, is having a person with more than one brain cell to give you some insight into their behavior.

It is also one of the few snakes that makes me believe that the "reg" pattern/color is much nicer than the albino variety!!

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

I never do anything the easy, simple or smart way.. I am jumping in w/ both feet!! Actually they are awesome snakes and not bad to keep. Certainly not a "starter" snake, but nothing I have really is..

I have spent a fair amount of time with his.. and they are certainly high strung animals.. and a bit territorial. But once out, they are fine. The do hiss a bit and puff up.. but that just makes it a bit more fun.

Here is a couple shots of a holdback from one of their clutches last year. Still not yellowed up yet, but she is working on it.. also a shot of the HB puffed up for fun..
