The New England axanthics are known to look rather drab as neonates and then blosson into lighter faint patterned adults. The Lemke line tends to look great as a baby and then turn into more drab adults. Also the crossbars tend not to dissapate on the Lemke line of aninmals. I produce both lines every year.
I crossed the two lines (bred the NE to Lemke)several years ago to see if it would improve the Lemke line and in my opinion it did not.
