Hey Tim, Don't know if you've caught on in reading our posts but we are the number one most popular forum. Even going WAY past forums with higher (2x) dedicated page counts. The way it works is each page has 50 threads. We have 3 dedicated pages so 150 dedicated threads. Themost popular forum is a sum total of all non archived posts. Every time a new thread is started , it moves thread #150 to our 4th "waiting for archive" page.

Soooo, if'n ya wouldn't mind, don't start a new thread in response to an existing thread.. Unless of course it's gone way down the page AND nobody is responding.

Just thought I'd let you know..

For the rest of you reading this post (BOB, FRANK etc.)
CAN'T YA READ

For the rest of you, can't ya read???

Just ignore dave and don't worry about it.. Frank and bob will be here in a few and babble on and on about something or another.. entertain us all and make sure we get some value out of this thread too..

In the mean time, here are some OT filler for all to enjoy -

This is a copy/paste from a post I made on another forum.. so you guys won't know Mike.. but he is a nice guy, so play along..

Me and Mike went for a stroll through the woods this morning.. did not find much, but atleast we weren't behind a desk. I flushed 24 ticks when I got home (don't call peta on me) w/ about 1/2 of them being TINY!!
Check this little thing on my pinkie finger out!!

We did see a ring neck right off though, but it escaped before we got a photo.. also a racer that was a bit to quick (Mike has promised to dive in the mud after it next time if we are not in his car)..

Lots of these guys..

lots of baby sliders..

and for size reference..

there were lots and lots of ugly bugs..

and.. yes, we managed pics of a snake

not the most productive day out.. but is there ever really a bad day in nature?

I hope there's not a lot of Lyme's Disease where you were hiking! That little tick reminds me of an adult deer tick (the carriers)... My daughter's had Lyme's and my Dad's had it 3 times (once hospitalized; they thought he'd had a stroke!) It's bad stuff!

There are lots of deer ticks around.. but that one (and all the others that I got good luck at were lonestar ticks.. Still nasty little boogers.. but not has bad about carrying stuff. Only a few had actually attached - most were just crawling on me, so, hopefully it is all good.

hey my other job is huck fin, and tom sawyer, a little trick if and ticks do inbed inside of you ,use nail polish they pop right out

FRoberts Jun 07, 2007 10:00 PM

I once was pheasant hunting and noticed over 100 deer ticks on my person. I spend a lot of time in the woods. Hunting, Fishing, and hiking. So I thought I was a good candidate for the vaccine. It was a series of three shots ( one, three months later another, one year later the last.). Soon after that they took vaccine off the market. It was nice of them to inject me with that crap and then pull it off the market. I still get bit by a lot of ticks, somehow either the vaccine worked or I am one lucky SOB. Ticks little vector parasites, are even active in the dead of winter. Most bugs take a snooze during the winter, they do not, active all year. I truly abhor them. I feel bad for your child if she caught it. Bottom line, ticks suck, both figuratively and literally.

Death to Ticks!!!!

i thought deer ticks were mainly upper midwest - i guess not. my neighbor got lyme disease a few years ago. if it was not for aids - we would hear a lot more about lyme disease. lack of caps is still because i am trying to handle and calm an agressive sub-adult spotted python while typing this. no bites this message, so it is getting better.

I recognize the genera Virginia. I knew it was an earth snake, ok, maybe not. That's what I thought it was upon looking at it.

I have never kept one of those.

I have kept most smaller colubrids ( that are indigenous to NJ ) like Northern Brown ( dekay's ), smooth & rough green snakes, red-bellied snakes, and ring neck snakes.

Had my share of Thamnophis & Nerodia as well.

be my sponsor lol on a serious note your animals are just plain kick a$$ alot of stuff i like in your groups of everything. I do have a few questions for you Via E-mail one day. some helpfull lil info bout some things is all. and here to say sorry for the new post is a few of my no longer with us friends (either rescues and rehomed or sold)
first is scar the poor skinny under fed ball who was housed with the blood shown below now in 100% health and as happy as ever with one of my friends i actualy gave scar to him as a grad present since he wanted a snake

scar was so happy in his new home 3 weeks after getting there he started to jam out with style with his new daddy lol

this was the blood that was housed with scar and was biting him both were skinny as hell but not only was all the bones showing in the blood she couldnt move her back half of her body and was SEVERE constipated somehow majior hard blockage needless to say he/she is at her new home with one of my pet store buddies and is 100000X better

this one was kinda sad my very pretty chinese water dragon very bad MBD couldnt realy use back legs wouldnt eat big lump formed above back leg just bad but BUT she is also better at a new home with a cute mommy

this lil guy wasnt bad just needed a new home was in a 20 long with dirt and ntohing else he is just fine a lil grumpy tho he is with the new mommy who took in the water dragon

AND this lil looker came into a very big local pet shop with lots of reptiles i wont say name of it tho lol and it was a excuse my talk here but a very ghetto female who was like that thing bites all the time i havent fed it in 4 months and it was housed with a 14' python yeah well the pet store took it in while i was right there and the reptile guy looks at me and goes meet you in back with her in 5 min this one is all yours lol 100% perfect in every way ate f/t for me no problems put her weight back on no problem tame as a lil kitten so sweet probed to be a male and went to a friend of mine who has a nice big old 6 year old very clean and pretty normal columbian female

this was my buddy rescue that i couldnt keep but i see every weekend he was a very tiny baby tame from the start still is but he was frozen in a 10 gallon outside cause the owner no longer wanted him so sad but he is a trooper made it through growin like a weed and still tame you can even scratch his head if very careful and out of his tank already lol he is like a snake inside his cage your fingers are food

you guys will like this one i order a pair of tame cb white lips from *cough LLL cough* and well neither one is tame at all not even close the female was shipped in deep blue and died a week and a half after arraivle and i sold the male cause i wanted a pair and well the female died and didnt want to deal with *cough LLL cough* again

just for fun some turtles at the pet store doin soul train

long enough dave? lol but my pics have a lil story with them oh and the ball and blood that were housed together were beyond infested with mites only thing better than a quarentine room is one at a house with no animals lol good thing i have nice friends lol

Sponsor!! It'd be like having a drunk guard the liquor cabinet.

Glad to see you've rescued so many animals but it's also very sad to see that you had to and to know that barely scratched the surface.
