molded egg

TerryHeuring Jun 07, 2007 07:05 PM

Just a little info on an egg I had that appeared to be going bad due to a mold growing on it.I put liquid Band aid on it only on the infected area, This stopped the molding process and the egg is hatching now.For the record the baby is a yellow belly.Terry

Excellent info Terry......thank you much! These are the kinds of tips we need to share.

Another tip I can offer is the following:

I had some condensation water from the glass top drip on one egg early into the clutch's incubation. This is not good. So I just sprinkled some of the vermiculite over that egg to "sponge up" the moisture and the egg looks just fine now. The clutch will be hatching at the end of this month. Of course, this will only work if you are using vermiculite, or vermiculite and perlite for the substrate in incubation.
