Panic question please.....

Chameleon996 Aug 16, 2003 05:43 PM

I have a female veiled that is about six months old. She hasn't been bred but I think that she is about to lay eggs. She has been spending alot of time on the bottom of her cage. I put the container of dirt in her cage a few days ago, this morning I found that she has dug a shallow hole and has spent the whole day sitting in it. She seems to be having trouble moving around and she's giving off attitude but then again she always has. This is the first female that I have had so of course I am panicing. I know the eggs aren't any good I just want to make sure that she is fine.

Dawn-

Give her space, if she sees you she will stop laying the eggs. Leave her alone and don't check in on her often. She may dig a few holes that is normal. Hope this helps!

Thanks John

I woke up this moring and she was in the same shallow hole. This isn't a tunnel it is a hole that I can see her entire body, I thought they dug tunels. How long should I let her stay there before I do something? She doesn't eat but I'm sure thats normal. I am just worried about her being egg bound. She is having such a hard time whenever she tries to move. Sorry for the panic!
