Some snakes just dont like to be handled...Usually they calm down with age. You can try to handle him more often but you might also stress him out more...Each snake is different.

I handle the agressive ones more and they relax.

The timid ones are a little trickier, I still handle them but less often, I think they need time to grow out of their timidity.
