Finger deformity..

nhatgia90 Jun 07, 2007 08:40 PM

I recieved some baby ssvannahs 2 days ago. I just noticed one of the savannahs has some sort of deformity in his fingers, some of the fingers bend upward and one his finger is twisted all the way around. I was wondering if this is deformity or is it just slow development and it will eventually straighten out.

Also how many species are there of savannahs. From the batch I noticed one that really stands out. It's a whitish color with some orange spots on his back.

Hey Mike,

I'll try to get pictures tonight. I have another question if a baby savannah is missing the tips of its fingers, can the fingers grow back?

Hello N,
Your monitor will never grow it's toes, limbs or tail back if lost. Nor will these losses prevent a healthy lizard from living a "full life" in every way. Try to remedy the conditions that cause this damage if it is environmental/husbandry. Best to you-Mike
