New House For Falcor

Dracool Jun 08, 2007 09:15 AM

Hello
I live in South Africa and have 2 lizards, one a white throated monitor, Falcor. He is about 5 months old and was rescued from appalling conditions. I have had him for about 3 months and he is growing madly. He recently outgrew his tank so I built him a larger more tailor made enclosure. After much deliberation, I decided to use a type of stiff aviary wire across the front and for the door, instead of glass or perspex. He is, indigenous, so I was hoping temperature wouldn't be too much of a problem, but noe we are having an extremely cold winter. He does have a basking light, heating pad and infra red, tho. I try to walk him every day, he has a harness and lead and loves walking in the garden, eating the odd snail, worm or grub. Here is a pic of him, I will post one of his new house soon.

But a big smile on my face knowing someone cares about their lizards and knows what theyre doing at the same time. Good luck with him, he looks in tip top shape!
