This is my 4th clutch so far and one of my most anticipated Het Clown X Het Clown 5 good eggs. Checking Randy Remington’s ODDS Page ( http://snakemorphs.home.comcast.net/odds.htm#table )it should give me a 76.3% chance of a Clown or ¼ per egg but I think the 76% chance at a clown sounds better. LOL I will take a male, female don’t care as long as I can get my 1st clown. Wish me luck my 1st clutch has just started piping and I got at least 7 more coming so its been a pretty good year for me so far.

The hets going at it mom is real sweet looking

Vince,

Congrats! Producing your own Clowns is really exciting. Let us know when they hatch.

I have some Clown hets also and I have noticed that my Clown hets are the most beautiful hets in my collection. Ghost/Hypo hets are also above average in appearance but for some reason my Clown hets are even more beautiful. I purchased my hets from "4 different" breeders and yet they are all really beautiful. They look like beautiful normals of course but they have nice clean crisp patterns with a little extra color and contrast. One of my females is also a Ringer " a visual bonus ".

Have you also noticed the same with your Clown hets? What line are you working with?

Have a nice season and again congrats.

Sincerely, Kyle

They are VPI and yes I do think the hets look nicer I bought a pastel 66%poss het for clown from SK just because she had the het clown look to me, nice color, pattern and seems like alot of them have hooks,Ps or ?marks in the pattern. some pics of the pastel poss.

Very nice! I agree, they do have a certain look. I actually think I could pick out clown hets from possible Clown hets. Might sound crazy but I can probably do the same with Ghost/Hypo hets. I certainly would not want anyone to make me prove that but if I were purchasing possible Clown or Ghost/Hypo hets there would be a few things I would definitly look for. Then again I could be wrong . You probably know what I mean. You selected your Pastel possible Clown het based on that look. They do seem to have a certain look. On the other hand Caramel hets "my experience" look the gamit, dark, light, average, above average. There is one specific thing that ALL of my Ghost/Hypo hets "that I produced or purchased" have in common. But then, what do I know?

Vince,

While not an exact science, First the "faded head dot" which from my experience has been on "every" Ghost/Hypo and Ghost/Hypo het that I have produced or purchased and second the above average "overall" appearance. I have noticed the stripe but it has not really stood out as much to me as the "faded head dot". It is fun noticing these little nuances that are consistent.
