how to serve? roach inquiry

keith_ecko Jun 08, 2007 06:45 PM

Well my Blatta's arrived from Jason @ fireballdragonz and I was wondering to anyone in here who has roaches how they go about getting there roaches out for feeding? Any tips to keep it simple. My rubbermaid isn't tall enough to put the egg crates vertical so there horizontal and all the roaches are hidden and I'm also going to start a colony so I don't want to disrupt them too much. I just want to start feeding off a few here and there to see what happens. There so ugly I don't even want to touch them, haha. Not to mention they are frigging fast too. Jason gave me a few helpful hints and was great at answering my questions so I'd recommend him for your needs. I just like to hear all the opinions out there..Oh also how old should a beardie be before giving Dubia's? They are a bit bigger with harder chitin but they are slower and don't climb much so I'd like to go there eventually. Thanks guys. Have a great weekend!

From experience get a larger Rubbermaid container and place the egg crates vertical. It helps in cleaning. We have lobster and orange head. Both are caught by hand and placed in a dusting bag prior to feeding.
