I was there as well, I only went to get rats for my boas. I was not impressed this time the show seems to have its ups and downs, I think it depends upon who runs it.
I waited almost 30 min in line which made sense when I got to the counter and the lady could not figure out how to make any change and was talking rather than working way to slow.
Another thing that I have started to notice like you said about the containers is the lack of respect some of the vendors have towards their animals/customers. I watched a boa stargaze for 5 mins or so at one of the bigger boa/ball wholesalers. And argentine cross albino boas sold as bubblegum corals give me a break.
I also needed help with taking the rats out to the car due to a recent surgery. My stepdad walked on in no questions asked?
I feel that if the people who manage these shows ran it like a business it would be much better. Make your workers work, and decline people who care more about the money than the hobby.
I needed to vent...
