Shedding problem

My son's leopard gecko is about 2yr. old. Up until recently, he had never had a problem shedding his skin. For the last two sheds, the old skin has not come off of his head. He now has several layers on the top of his head. Se have been misting his hiding place daily to bring up the humidity in the area. Any suggestions?

I have read you are supposed to help them along if you don't have to rip it off.
