I was looking through two books and I think one said that low temps mean more females and one said high temps mean more females. Does anyone know what the answer is for sure? I am kind of confused.

Bearded dragons are not temperature dependent for sex, unlike some species of reptiles. So it won't matter what temp you imcubate at, it will still be random how many males and females you get.

As far as I know there hasn't been any conlcusive evidence, just some speculation. While some have reported success in turning out more of one sex than another under certain temps, there are many other factors that could play a more vital role.

Rather than leave you completely empty-handed I'll quote from "The Bearded Dragon Manual," a book that is highly regarded by some.

"TDSD is a complex subject best resolved by genetic research & experimentation. The only possible answer we can give at this time is that there may be TDSD in bearded dragons. In the last couple of years, clutches that we have incubated at 82 - 84 degrees (F) have yielded a higher proportion of males than in previous years when eggs were incubated at 84 - 86 degrees (F)." Pg 99 of the latest edition of The Bearded Dragon Manual

Get the book. It's worth it.

Best wishes!
