So some backwoods hick brings in a bp the other day that they bought a few weeks ago. The animal is so dehydrated that its skin is hanging off and it can barely lift its head. Not to mention that it is skin and bones. I tried to feed it a fuzzy last night and came in this morning to see that it has bitten the fuzzy and all looks well. So I walk away and leave it alone for an hour. When I checked on him again I realized that he is so weak that he can't even subdue this tiny fuzzy. So I pick him up, pull the fuzzy out of his mouth, and while it is still open I stick a pinky in there far enough to where he has no choice but to swallow it. I then helped him to a small drink of water. At this point he can still barely hold up his head so I had to bring the water to him. After work tonight I just kept thinking about how doomed he is at the shop. We just have too many animals to care for to give this one the amount of attention he needs. Especially with how busy weekends are. So about an hour after work I drive up there and take him home. Half dead ball pythons are pretty cheap
I figured if he still has the spirit to try and eat after all he has been through then I will do my best to help him recover. I am going to let him settle in for a few days before messing with him or taking photos. Here is my old bp Wilson to hold you all over though. And just to keep things on track one of Hope's eggs!
