I just got in from the Christmas and 170 from Study Butte to Lajitas. Rained from 10:30 until at least 2:00am. Found two wet subocs, one wet emoryi, one wet checkered garter, three DOR nights, one DOR atrox.
The only truly local forecast engine I know of is NOAAs Point Forecast. Go the the map at the bottom and "point" at the exact spot you want. It will then calculate a fairly accurate forecast for that location.
An incredible new radar service is in Beta testing by The Weather Channel. Check it out here. Pan around on the map and select the spot you want, then zoom in or out. I can see my house on the map! The radar sequences take a while to load, but they are VERY precise, fluid, and recent.
Been cruisin' round the WET roads of (West) Texas and:
RAIN and more RAIN!
I think watersnakes are about to move in to West Texas!
Wettest I have EVER seen this place!
More Thunderstorms than TAMPA - NO KIDDING!

bleck. I hope things are still moving this week. Has the rain put a damper on the herping yet?
