feeding time

nyoka7 Jun 10, 2007 02:06 PM

so, i've had problems with my western hoggie not eating. Having a big appetite now, i feed her in her cage. The substrate is a top soil/ dirt mix. I figure it's like the wild where she would normally eat. But, i'm a biit worried about her swallowing small rocks and or dirt. Could this be potentially harmful? Should i start taking her out to feed?

Take her out to feed, or place the lid of a container in there and let her eat on top of it. (I would do the lid thing first, since you have had problems getting her to eat in the past.) Ingesting substrate is not a good thing and should be avoided.
